The Alexander Forbes Community
Trust is a broad-based empowerment initiative
owning 5% of the South African operations of Alexander
Forbes. The primary objective of the Trust is
to empower black people within the Trust’s
five focus areas-being the aged, the disabled,
those affected by HIV/Aids, women and education.
These causes all bear a relationship to the nature
of our business.
The trustees are responsible for ensuring that
monies are paid to worthy projects and a sub-committee
has been set up that is responsible for ensuring
that suitable projects are identified and that
they are sustainable into the future. Employees
of the group are encouraged to participate in
the projects and to assist with providing relevant
skills.
The Trust spent in excess of R3 500 000 in the
last financial year. |
